Hello Everyone, Recently, I have started reading LLD - Head First Design Pattern - Edition 2 I'll be sharing my learning on daily basis here please feel free to checkout my GitHub repo : https://lnkd.in/dtRMMUtG Today i have covered Singleton Pattern which we often use in our projects. Singleton patterns is the easiest pattern in Whole OO in my opinion but's is very powerful why let's say when you want to create a single object that should be used throughout the application @ that time one pattern which  comes into mind is Singleton pattern. Example: 1) we want to create a DB connection which will remain constant throughout the application we can use Singleton pattern to get the object which will be singleton in nature and will hold the connection related configurations. 2) Another classical example would be logging object let's say we have our internal Logging system using which we'll print the logs @ that time also we can use Singleton Pattern to create a single instance of Logging class and that can be used throughout the application.

Participated in Leetcode weekly contest 407. All tricky questions this time. Found 2nd question particularly interesting to observe!! Ideas/Approaches: 1. Number of Bit Changes to Make Two Integers Equal - if AND of two numbers isn't equal to target, Then not feasible to get target. - XOR of two numbers provide the bits where operation is needed. Returning the count of them. 2. Vowels Game in a String - Alice always wins except when there isn't any vowel in string. 3. Maximum Number of Operations to Move Ones to the End - Iterate for each bit from left to right, use variable counter to count 1's and use variable prev to store previous bit. - If found bit is 1 - If prev is 0, Add counter to res. - Increase counter - Update prev with current bit 4. Amazon SDE-1 Interview Experience and Preparation Strategy One of my juniors recently secured an Amazon SDE-1 role in Hyderabad, India. I’m proud to share his experience to help others aiming for similar roles. Background - Work Experience: 6 months. - Total Rounds: 5 (1 Online Coding + 4 Face-to-Face Interviews). Interview Details 1st Round (Online Coding on HackerEarth) The online round had two questions: 1. A problem based on DFS/BFS – solved successfully. 2. A string-based question – attempted but couldn’t solve completely. 2nd Round (Face-to-Face) The problem: - Given an array representing the level order traversal of a full binary tree, construct the tree. - The traversal rules: - Odd levels: Visit left child first, then right. - Even levels: Visit right child first, then left. The interviewer focused on logic and coding clarity. 3rd Round (Face-to-Face) The session began with a 10-minute discussion about his current work experience. Then came the coding challenge: 1. Top K Frequent Elements https://lnkd.in/gfCa3S54 - Discussed handling large datasets (e.g., when data doesn’t fit in memory). - Proposed breaking the file into smaller parts using multi-hashmaps + heaps. - Wrote pseudo-code and implemented the heapify function. 4th Round (Face-to-Face) The questions: 1. The discussion emphasized efficient tree storage for large levels (e.g., n = 1000). 🚫 Swiggy’s Fundamental Flaws I placed multiple orders recently, and the experience has been a nightmare. Out of six orders, two never arrived. In Order #192897140998302 , the delivery never showed up. Customer support initially insisted on collecting “stale food” that never existed, and only after repeated follow-ups did I finally secure a refund. ⚠️ Checkout Errors During Order #193715151192529 , I tried to add four items, but the system only processed one—no warning, no error message. Then it charged higher delivery fees because the total dropped below the minimum threshold. Customer support refused to acknowledge any bug. 💬 Arrogant Customer Service Instead of addressing these issues, the response was essentially “If you don’t like it, just stop using the app.” That attitude is shocking, especially coming from a company valued at $11B. 🤔 Basic Operational Misses A food delivery service should master two fundamentals: processing orders correctly and delivering them on time. Swiggy’s repeated failure on these basics destroys customer trust and investor confidence. 💡 Final Thoughts Even smaller startups worth $1M handle these essentials better. In an age of advanced AI, there’s no excuse for such glaring oversights. If Swiggy doesn’t fix these problems soon, it risks losing both loyal customers and long-term credibility. Have serious doubts on management which runs this company Finally uninstalled Swiggy no longer interested in paying 2X for stale food or tech errors and waste 1 hour with their customer support . Now trying some Open Network For Digital Commerce (ONDC) apps even if they turn up to be worse Ola Electric can take me anywhere i want and pickup my own food

CAT exam has seen 30% more registrations this year, 3.3 Lakh applicants for CAT in 2023, whereas in 2022 it was just 2.55 Lakh. The tech fresher job market has been hard hit by recession and the number of job cuts , there are multiple scenarios : - Wipro and Infosys - No Campus Hiring this year. Large chunk of students who earlier got placed in service based companies and were satisfied are still in the job market. - Reduced PPOs and Hiring numbers by Big Tech : This has been the trend this year and the hiring numbers are significantly lesser. - Startups are getting cheap talent and no funding season : This also has worsen the situation. How to approach LLD or OOD interview problems? So, last few weeks I have been taking some mock interviews and the most common pattern I see missing is: Structure. And the most common question I get asked is: How to prepare for LLD round? For LLD rounds, I think, following structure would be good: 1. Ask questions. - Of course, the same age old advice. Seriously, never start working out the solution before asking questions, understanding the problem, verifying the goals, and prioritising the deliverables at the end of the interview. 2. Identify and list down entities (don't list down attributes yet). 3. Mention relationships and cardinalities between entities. 4. Ask the interviewer if they want class diagram or code? - if class diagram, cover all entities + attributes and methods inside each class block -> mention OOP concepts used while designing class diagram - if code, then write classes, attributes, methods inside your code 5. Most importantly, proactively mention all the design principles (SOLID, Separation of concerns etc.) used and design patterns used (factory etc.) and the rationale behind them. Primarily, as an interviewer I want to see 3 things: 1. Can you model the problem into a working technical design? 2. Can you build an extensible low level technical design? 3. If this design is given to another engineer in the team, can they implement with minimum hand holding and help? Bonus tip: One soft skill muscle I would request you to build is - Curiosity. Research and learn about real world software more rather than typical car rental questions. when you see a product like notion, trello, think and research about its HLD, LLD etc. Let me know your questions. #lld #ood #interviews

When I started out CP, there were very few resources like usaco.guide and CP algorithms. But these resources weren't that beginner friendly. So, newcomers would face a lot of problems going through these resources. Most of the resources in India were paid. But we wanted to create free beginner friendly resources. This is the reason we worked on Ask Senior. We wanted to create a platform for problem solving which would include all the topics required and help anyone in grinding the problems. We succeeded in making such a platform, also known as Road to Candidate Master sheet - asksenior.in/learn. This is the perfect roadmap for anyone containing hints and solutions to 50% of the problems out of 2000+ problems.

So i have tried out the takeUforward plus website for some time, Played around it for a while. I have taken every paid course out there (Algoexpert, lc premium, geeksforgeeks, coding ninjas). I invest a lot in these paid courses, so I feel i can give my initial impressions on it on how it compares with the other premium offerings. Personal take only tho xD Things that i love about the website 😍 : 1. The editorial blogs are very detailed and good. (Better than lc premium) 2. Very good features. (It's amazing to see a website with so many features on day 1) 3. The code review is damn good. (I tried it out and its very good) 4. Excellent problem set and deep coverage. 5. The UI looks very sleek and polish Things that i don't like: 1. Some videos on basics are missing (Java basics are missing) I think it will be like a crash course, where they just cramp you will all the information in a single video on all the syntaxes (Feel it's better that they go into their own videos in their topics as it will help beginners to space out information). 2. Website keeps throwing an error saying i have exceeded submissions (I have only done one submission in the last 10 mins). It's a very annoying bug, and I hope it will get resolved soon. 3. I think there is no TLE Check. Meaning i can submit O(n2) solutions, even if the problem's expected Optimized solution is less than that. I tried out for binary search and it allowed me to submit a O(n) solution, where the expected is O(logn), I will test this and update. Not been able to test out because of bug number 2. 4. No place to start where i left off. (Need to navigate each time) 5. Doubt solving is limited with no personal touch (Like coding ninjas), where a TA will come and help you or just drop you hints on the problem, here the AI gives you the solution code itself which might not be that good. 6. In some topics videos are missing, only editorials are present (But i think it will get added along very soon) That said, all the negatives i said, except 1, 2 are very nitpicky. It's great to see Raj Vikramaditya someone build a entire website from the ground up with a fairly new team and not much senior folks in it and deliver it in this much style and scale. And the prize to value prop is very good imo. For 5k you get lifelong access of very good content and a platform to practice. If you have only 5k and you want to take a good course and you don't know where to start, It's definitely worth considering it. Overall, definitely worth investing considering how good the website is, and how much he has helped the overall coding community just for free for this long.
